5 Space Sought
Alas, we haven't been able to link up with sufficient partners to make our new space work sustainably, so help us find another space in the area! Free, low cost, some kind of sharing arrangement we are open to all possibilities! Contact: Harry J. Bubbins. This underscores the need to launch an effort to identify and obtain our own property in the community to be able to share space with other needing causes and create the reality we want to live as a model for others on a long term sustainable basis. Since opening the Green Corner we have hosted: yoga, tango, meditation, exhibitions, meetings with local groups and projects like Bronx New Mommies and South Bronx CSA and elected officials, met funders, help us move on in style!

6 We are Featured on Green Map
The all new Powerful Green Map of New York made its debut on February 15, 2006 featuring many sites in the South Bronx.

Focusing on energy conservation, renewables and climate change, this map has great potential to mark a turning point in our city’s energy future.
“Taking action to make smart energy choices will help us make the move towards a more secure and empowered future, in addition to having a positive impact on our environment and our wallets,” says Wendy E. Brawer, Founding Director of Green Map System, the global eco-cultural mapping organization behind
this community media project. Use the Powerful Green Map to lower your utility bills, plan a new cycling route, see cutting edge green buildings, plan a riverside solar tour with the kids, to track down fresh local vegetables for dinner and much more.

The Powerful Green Map is the 5th citywide edition of the Green Apple Map of NYC’s environment since 1992. “We are glad that the South Bronx was not forgotten in this city-wide resource. Not only can we see the power plants and waste transfer sites that litter our shore, but our flagship garden and farmer’s market are highlighted to balance out the blight,” says Harry J. Bubbins, of Friends of Brook Park.

Printed on 100%
post-consumer recycled paper, it’s available in both folded and poster formats. The project’s website,
GreenAppleMap.org, features a new digital edition of the Powerful Green Map, plus resources in
English, Spanish and Chinese.
Get free copies of the new Powerful Green Map for your friends, neighbors or class at Greenmarkets
around town, or check online at GreenAppleMap.org for more pick up points. For one copy by mail,
send a self-addressed stamped envelope to Green Map, PO Box 249, NYC 10002-0249. For several, call
Green Map at 212 674 1631 or email apple@greenmap.org.
