Please support the FoBP with a year-end contribution
Dear Friend of FoBP,
With support from people like you, Friends of Brook Park has gained momentum on several critical fronts in 2006 -- from introducing more youth and adults
to the wonders of Nature in the South Bronx, to hosting a gallery and community center with yoga, art and nutrition classes and more. I'm writing to ask you
and your circle of family and friends to make a tax-deductible, year-end contribution to the FoBP and help us build on the accomplishments of the past year:
*Hosting the third year of the South Bronx Community Supported Agriculture, and the first year of a local Farmer's Market.
*Advocating to protect Randall's Island, hitting the headlines regularly, meeting with Mayor Bloomberg and garnering City Council Hearings.

*Paddling the local waterways with over 100 people, organizing the First Harlem River Flotilla, developing linkages along the entire waterfront and being featured in and on the cover of the official Bronx Harlem River Waterfront Bicycle and Pedestrian Study, 2006
(http://www.nyc.gov/html/dcp/html/transportation/td_bx_harlem_river.shtml).
*Conducting numerous, garden classes and workshops, special events, including our annual May Pole Dance and hosting Speaker Christine Quinn.

*Serving as a place of respite and reflection, non-competitive interactions across generational and ethnic lines, and indigenous cultural teachings.
In 2007 we'll work to move forward the creation of a local waterfront park while developing final designs and implementing interim programming. And we're already working to plant dozens of trees in the area to and from the water's edge vital arteries and pathways for a greener, cleaner, safer and healthier community.
And next year the FoBP will begin an exciting new season, sprouting our germinated seeds as we break ground on the Harmony Grove and Peace Walk Project.

We can't do all this alone. So, please show your support for a vibrant, sustainable FoBP by making a contribution at this critical time.
