Mulch Fest 2007

We rang in the new roman year with Mulch Fest 2007 an annual collaboration with the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, who provided the hot chocolate, and the tree mulcher. Some people brought their Christmas trees (or "Solstice Trees", in some cases) to where it came from, the Earth. Others we hunted and gathered from our surrounding neighborhood. Thanks especially to our Head Gardener Danny Chervoni for his dedicated efforts. Once again we scored over 100 trees. Some mulch was taken home by gardeners, one man came from Yankee Stadium area with a handcart! The rest we have the to landscape Brook Park with. We were joined by an excellent crew from Mot Haven Prep who put in a full day on the garden, shoveling and raking and working with the Earth.
